HARPAL SINGH

Volunteers of SRISTI GYAN KENDRA field visit team has interacted with a Innovator in Bohar Saidain Village of Kurukshetra. HARPAL SINGH is a 39 years old farmer residing at his farm house in a small village near Jyotisar on Kurukshetra & Pehowa Road. He is doing mushroom farming since 1994. He has evolved and presiding a cooperative organization named Kurukshetra Mushroom Production and Marketing Cooperative Society Limited.
He has networked several members from nearby districts. He has designed a Mushroom Production center with the help of DRDA Kurkshetra. He gives credit to entire development in mushroom sector to Mr. T.K. Sharma former deputy Commissioner of Kurkshetra.
INNOVATION
HARPAL SINGH has improved on the growing patterns and accessories required to grow mushrooms. he has used net to support compost instead of polythene recommended by Govt. agencies. he has worked up the mesh size of net and standardize it according to the varieties of mushrooms.

NEED TP EDUCATE FARMERS ON SAFE USE OF AGROCHEMICALS

It has been observed that Farmers are using Agro Chemicals without proper guidance. It is a well known fact that Agrochemicals is introduced in food chain can cause serious problems like cancer and unwanted growths in body. During our interactions with farmers in Umri village of Kurushetra we observed a farmer. Sristi Gyan Kendra has started educating farmers about ill effects of pesticides and on human body. So that our farmers can save themselves from bad impacts of Agro Chemicals.
